I will be honest. I really wanted to make a big list of my favorite Hanoi cafés but there is only so much coffee you can drink in two days. Especially if it’s Vietnamese coffee we are talking about (it’s strong!).The list wasn’t very long so I decided to just share my favorite cafe of the bunch- The Note coffee cafe.

The Note Café is an extremely cute cafe with a- might I say it- pretty unique concept.
The whole three stories building’s interior is covered in colorful post-it notes. All the notes are written by The Note Coffee’s customers and you can find a great variety of quotes, drawings and even small life lessons written on the notes.
I really love the concept, especially since Hanoi is such a popular backpacker destination. You could probably spend hours reading through the many notes and they all tell their own small stories from people all around the world.

We had just arrived in Hanoi after our flight and were really jet legged when we visited the cafe. But the colorfulness of the interior really brightened our mood and the strong coffee did a good job at waking us up. The staff was also cheerful and friendly and we had a good laugh with them before ordering our coffees and proceeding to write our own notes.

As for the coffee, you can find all the common Vietnamese coffee types. I recommend the Vietnamese egg coffee– it’s so good!
The drinks are served in unique feel-good coffee mugs or cups that are just a little kitsch and come with their own little notes from the staff as well.

If you need a pick me up just drop by at the Note Cafe. It’s quirky, has good coffee and what else can you want really? 🙂
